What a joy it was to have Brian home for Christmas, that was the best gift ever.
We had a jolly good time baking several batches of new homemade cookies, listening to plenty of Christmas tunes, and lots of cooking.
My new favorite tradition which I hope that we continue to do in our family was attend the Christmas Eve service at our church. A perfect way to really lead into Christmas with the true meaning fresh on our mind. In this world today it is easy to forget the reason for the season. Which is what, readers? JESUS!!
Brian and I spent our first Christmas at our house snuggled up by our adorable tree and warm glowing fireplace. We had a few presents for each other but kept it simple, which I liked. Our fellow Coast Guard married friends, Samantha and Tim, came over for a delicious Christmas dinner, with a multitude of food for just 4 people.
The following morning we packed up and headed to my folks house, where we were greeted with a blanket of snow covering the mountain. With lots of homemade cider, sledding, Christmas leftovers, and playing out in the snow, we had a lovely time.
