Juicing is for Lovers

In my recent obsession with healthy living I discovered the beauty of juicing. I just love it. Our neighbors were so kind to let us borrow their juicer for a week to see if we would like it. Umm yeah, we still haven't returned it. Good thing it is on our Christmas wishlist so we won't have to be juicer thieves much longer.

We went hard core juicing for a few days. Brian was a little more dedicated and didn't hardly eat any solid foods, while I occasionally munched on a whole wheat pita pocket. I thought it was going to be hard and that I was going to get lightheaded and weak, but the opposite happened, in fact I felt better running than I ever had. I think actually that week Brian ran the farthest he has ever run. Yeah Juice!

I was pleased to loose a few pounds that have been chilling out on my wasteline, but I was happier to feel great with tons of energy. I still juice almost once everyday. It is a great way to pack in nutrients, as there is no way I could eat that much fruits and veges in their solid form. The nutrients of the juice also hit your body faster since liquid is easier to digest. I was surprised too that the juice is tasty...like really yummy y'all. I think I have consumed more carrots in the last month or so of juicing than I have my entire life. I hate carrots by themselves but juicing them with limes, apples, ginger and grapes is awesome. I am glad to discover this little health secret, cause....
Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good...

My favorite is:
3 large carrots
2 medium apples
handful of grapes
half a lime
about an inch of ginger

sometimes I put beets and/or spinach in it, but the spinach turns it a gross looking brown. In that case I have to drink it with my eyes closed, haha.
