November 25th marked ten months of sweet Hannah’s
life with us. She is quickly emerging from a baby to a little person. Her
personality amazes me every day and she has a special way of making me laugh. She is one happy girl.
We were in Virginia when Hannah turned the page to 10
months. I am not even closely dedicated enough to carry her monthly bench to
Virginia with us. However, this rocking chair is very special. Brian’s parents
brought it up for Hannah on their trip in
July. Since we were flying we couldn’t bring it back home and were
waiting for either my parents to bring it up on their next drive or us on our next
car journey. This chair has been passed down in Brian’s family and belonged to
Hannah’s great grandfather. I love how these pictures merge a special place
with a special heirloom of our two families. The Virginia farm holds all my
first memories as a child, has been a place for our family to gather for years,
and is where Brian and I got married.
November seemed to fly by faster than the rest. Hannah and I
were sick the first two weeks; we hardly made it out of pajamas. Though I hated
seeing my little cutie sick and sad, I did appreciate cuddling my typically non
snuggler. We both recouped just in time for our long Thanksgiving trip to
Virginia. I think it was a much needed trip for our family. Getting away to the
beautiful mountains and countryside was refreshing and seeing family and
friends is always the best.
Hannah has become such a little ham. She loves to imitate
anything we do. She has mastered waving; waving to just about anyone even
to strangers. Clapping might be her favorite. We will be watching TV, Hannah
obviously not paying attention and occupied with her toys, someone claps on TV,
and Hannah stops what she is doing, looks up and starts clapping. I think she
can spot out someone clapping a mile away. Brian is probably most proud of teaching
her to make kissy noises. It is just about the sweetest. I think the funniest
of all is how she will respond back to us with “Whhooo Hoo!”
Little bug is finally started to find some desire to move
from her immediate position. She is so close to crawling and is able to scoot
around a little bit on her bum. She is still easily distracted by the littlest
of specks on the ground. She is definitely our little observant and detail
oriented child.
Hannah still loves just about any food, from simple foods
like peas and prunes to curry dishes and Mexican cuisine. We were really
excited for her to gobble down on Thanksgiving dinner, free access to whatever
food she wanted. I think she got a little overwhelmed with all the choices on
her tray and all the people and for the first time ever pushed food away from
herself. Otherwise she typically double fists food and stuffs her face. I am
always so nervous about her choking when she has chipmunk cheeks full of food.
There are many things that remind me that Hannah is growing
up quickly. She now has all of her 8 front teeth. She is talking up a storm and
plays so well independently. She is into everything and it seems impossible to
hide anything from her. She loves dancing to music and showing off. Brian’s old
boom box is her favorite toy, she can sit there and press buttons all day. She
really is becoming a little person and before we know it she will be turning
one.
I am enjoying motherhood immensely. It is kind of weird
recognizing that I am in fact a mom. It is an honor and a joy, and also a
frightening responsibility. Brian and I love this girl more than words can ever
describe. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I am incredible thankful for these
past ten months. All the worldly things and fluff in life can never measure up
to the immense and rich blessing of my family. I am thankful for Hannah and the
smiles, laughs, and love she brings into my life.
Love you sweet bugsters!
