My Mind is Set

Humans can be so hard headed.

Exhibit A: A family friend was down visitig his elderly mother 5 hours away. When he got home he realized he had left her walker in the back of his van. The next day he gets a phone call from his son that his father suddenly showed up at the house, took the walker out of the back of the van, came inside, used the bathroom, and proceeded to get back in his car and drive 5 hours back home. This elderly man drove 10 hours total to retrieve a walker of perhaps a $40 value. It was set in his head that his wife was coming home from the hospital and needed her walker, therefore he had to go go on a mission to bring it back home.

Exhibit B: I think the world should revolve around me.

I admire unselfish people. Maybe one day I can be one. Atleast the old man was thinking about his wife's needs. He may not have been using logic, but it appears to me that he was acting out of love. One can use all the logic in the world world but it will not make him or her worthy of respect.
