Well this post may seem a bit silly, since it is about Mr. Sampson. Yes, I do realize he is a dog but he isn't just any dog.
Sampson came into our lives around this time a year ago. He immediately stole our hearts as we watched him smile with his head out of the car window. His good looks and charm swept us away. He quickly became a true member of our family, and his personality grew and grew and grew.
When we come home after being away all day, he greats us at the door, quickly runs to get his best friend Earl the stuffed bear, and continues to whimper a bit by our legs. He clearly knows the magic words, "Dinner, cookie, come on up, and Where's Earl?!" He also is a pro at sitting, laying down, raising the roof, and getting down. Most of all he has the puppy eyes trick down packed. Just shoot us a look of sadness and neglect, and all the love in the world is his at a tip of a hat.
I have never seen a dog with so much personality. He even gives hugs! Sometimes I think it is silly that I love this dog so much because, well, he IS a dog. However, this fella has kept me company on many lonely nights, over 4 months worth, in this house. He is always there waiting at the door when I get home. He barks off all the bad guys, and makes sure I am safe. He can tell when I am sad and will come to cuddle up to me. I am sure glad we have "Mr. Sampson Pants" as a part of our little family. Cheers to Sampson!
Sampson at the animal shelter before we got him. He looks so different.
