New Beginnings, and Weddings Too

It is fun being engaged. I like to look at my shiny ring while I am typing this. Brian had a great proposal, what a clever guy. Let me share the story:

He spent the week before the big proposal crafting away. We drove up to Blacksburg with my family for a much needed Hokie visit. We went to the bookstore, to the drillfield, and then over to the duckpond. The ducks were so cute landing on the frozen pond, sliding and falling. Anyways, we were walkig over to the gazebo, and my mom was taking pictures, which is completely normal for her. Brian asked me what something was over by the gazebo. There was a trail of construction paper with roses that lead into the gazebo. I soon found out it was a "memory trail". Brian had put together pictures, stories, and memories in chronological order of the time we have been dating. I had to go along and read each one, though I must admit was difficult to concentrate on reading them since I knew what was going to happen at the end of the trail. THEN..WALLAH, he proposed under the gazebo at the last stop...I am guessing I said yes..I honestly don't remember too much but excitement. I just know that I grabbed for the ring, and then said, "oh ya, you are suppose to do that part."

We are so excited for our marriage. Please keep us in mind and in your prayers as we wait to get Brian's assignment. We should find out March 5th where we will be heading. Also pray for my patience and our marriage as Brian will most likely be out to sea for probably half of the first two years of our marriage. I know this will be difficult for us, and I know I need to practice more patience to prepare for these times apart.

Check out facebook pictures of our proposal. I made a posting of them from Brian's album on his facebook.
