Sunny and 75, Merry Christmas

I had a spectacular Christmas trip.

It all started on Christmas Eve, sitting in my freezing cold office, looking out my window at two feet of snow. However, I was soon to be on my way to sunny Florida.

When I got down to Florida that night Brian took me to downtown St. Pete on the waterway to a park full of Christmas lights and even Santa's sleigh and reindeer. Of course Santa wasn't there because he was mighty busy...too bad he had forgotten his reindeer. Anyways, we headed back to his home and had some chocolate fondue by the Christmas tree, and then stayed up till 2:30 in the morning wrapping everyone's gifts.

Christmas day: Unwrapping presents with the fam, brunch with extended fam, unwrapping presents from extended fam, egg nog by the pool, over to his uncles on the water for dinner and more presents including a Yankee Swap, over to other uncles for dessert and drinks. We stayed mighty busy on Christmas but had a blast spending time with all Brian's wonderful family members.

26th: Brian took me out on their boat. We had a picnic anchored in by an island and then got out and walked around on the beach. I even found a coconut for a keepsake. Brian showed me around St. Pete by the boat and we got to go under the Sky Way bridge, ironically enough Brian's Dad 30 minutes later talked someone from committing suicide from the top of it. What a hero! Anyways we headed home and got all cleaned up and looking fine and Brian took me to the beach for sunset. Then we went out with his sister, her boyfriend, and their friends for some grouper and puttputt. Phew, what a busy and fun day.

27th: Brian, his parents and I headed off toward Orlando for the 14th Annual US Service Academy's Military Ball. We had some time to play so we went Downtown Disney to shop around. While we were grabbing lunch, a girl passed out in front of Brian and I in line. Her eyes rolled back and started turning blue so I ran to get his Dad. She came to and Brian and him helped her out. His Dad is always dashing off to save someone. Anyways, we headed to the hotel for the dance. We even got upgraded to a VIP Suite, pretty P.I.M.P :-) We got all jazzed up and had a blast at the dance. Brian cracks me up with his dance moves. That boy can dance! Too bad I have two left feet.

28th: We headed back to St. Pete and chilled out for the afternoon with some football. I packed up all my new Christmas gifts and had to head back of to good ol' snowy New England.

I was so greatful for such an enjoyable time in Florida with my buddy and his awesome family. I am so happy to have gotten to meet more of his family, spend some quality time together, and of course get some sun light too. I think I have a little bit of my Florida born blood in me. :-) I will have to add some pictures soon, meanwhile I added some to StalkerBook..coughcough I mean Facebook :-)
