Up Up and Away

What a busy couple of weeks. I want to share with you some exciting times. I meant to blog awhile back about Castle Dance in Newport, RI. We had a marvelous time...it almost seemed magical. We went to the Senior Castle Dance at the Roseclift Mansion in Newport, RI. The mansion was spectacular, and Brian and I looked mighty dashing I might say. The weekend was filled with fun time with friends, lots of eating including lobster, the clift walk, playing around on the beach, and touring around the historic town.

Fast forward a bit and continue on to our next big adventure...house hunting. Brian and I went down to Portsmouth, Va for the quest to find a house. We actually had some difficulty getting realtors to respond back to us, so we only looked at just a few. We were able to find a great house minutes away from base, which is a pretty unusual find. It was a little over our budget, but the short drive to work will make up for it, I am sure. We even get to keep some of their furniture, like the guest bedroom set, the grill, front porch rockers, patio furniture, and wine rack. It is a cute 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house at the end of a cul-a-sac right by a wildlife refuge that leads into the Chesapeake bay. Brian is excited to create his "man cave" in the extra bedroom, and to live in a two story house for the first time. We are both excited for a back yard so we can get a doggie. I am also greatful to have found a safe neighborhood, and the security system so I don't have to be a scaredy cat while Brian is away.

After our house hunting success we headed to the good ol' Franklin County. Let me tell you, it was good to finally be home. Of course you can't come home without shooting lots of guns. We had a grand ol' country time. Unfortunately Brian had to fly back to CT, while I stayed home and got some wedding stuff done and had a Bridal Shower. I had a great time at home, and it was awesome to see some friends that I haven't seen in a about a year.

Well well well after all the Franklin County fun it was time to head back up to Connecticut. We had a graduation party at the Masalin's with steak and lobster, DELIC! I will have to post some pics of that when I am with Brian b/c he has the camera. Saturday starts the graduation festivities at the Academy. I am excited for Brian's family to come up and join in the celebration.

The house is so cute - uh, our "starter" home was NOT like that! Maybe it is a good idea to wait to get married until AFTER college. :-)

i am super excited for you guys!!
