A New Season

I am not sure where summer went and why the leaves are already falling. I wish I had blogged about our summer to remember it by. Instead I look back and see a whirlwind of travel, events, visitors, and fun. It was a good summer, I know that, and also tiring. Travels to New England, Virginia, Michigan coast, Chicago, more Virginia, around Wisconsin, and Florida....plus guests visiting in and out of our house. We even had a roommate staying with us, who was equally nomadic. Our house saw a lot of packed bags enter and exit its doors. Brian traveled even more with work all around the coast. We went to festivals, many ball games, museums, and events. I spent the summer trying my best to ignore nausea and fatigue from the little munchkin growing inside me.

Now looking out my window seeing beautiful colors of orange, yellow, and maroon I am thankful for the adventures we had and grateful for a little rest in our schedules. Brian is still a busy guy with work and an accelerated EMT class. He is in class 8 hours a week plus online work to be done, but fortunately the hustle and bustle of Lake Michigan and work travel is settling down. It is nice to be home. It is refreshing to have the time and energy to keep a clean house and do laundry and live out of dressers rather than a suitcase.

Meanwhile, I am growing growing growing. Yesterday I was talking to Brian on his long commute home from class. I was telling him how my back was hurting so bad that I was having trouble walking and sitting. He got home, looked at my belly and said "baby, no wonder your back hurts, your belly grew so much today." It was true, I go through these crazy one day growth spurts. They hurt, but are also very exciting. I love this precious time, our little gal in there flipping, kicking, and growing oh so quickly.

On to my favorite season of hoodies, pumpkins, apples, crisp weather, football, beautiful leaves, and much much more. Maybe I will actually document some of it and take it all in, before *poof* this season does a disappearing act on me like summer did.
