Valentines

Aww, the day of love. This year looked a wee bit different for us this, being the first Valentines with a kiddo. Never fear, we still had an awesome dinner and a great time together, thanks to a thoughtful husband.

The evening was started with a lovely appetizer of steamed muscles in a beer sauce and sausage. Miss Hannah decided to join us for this portion of dinner. She graced us with her soft heart PJs in honor of the romantic occasion. I of course dressed for the occasion in a glamorous pulled back ponytail, maternity jeans, and a Columbia fleece. Sexy, I know.
Brian picked up these lovely flowers. Earlier in the week he asked if he had to get me flowers this year. I said something along the lines of, "Of course you do, I birthed your child."
For this special day of love we finally opened up a bottle of Port wine bought by Brian while he was in Portugal a few years ago while underway. It has been aging into a fine wine for something like 100 years....or maybe more like 9 years. We figured it would either be awful or amazing. It was in fact amazing.
Hannah was kind enough to fall asleep by the time dinner rolled around. We were able to enjoy lobster tails and asparagus baby free. My favorite part of this segment was simply chit chatting with my husband. The food was mighty tasty too!
After dinner and picking up no longer sleeping baby, we caught up on some of our favorite recorded television shows and ate some of these chocolate covered strawberries that Brian made (isn't he talented?) If that wasn't enough we also devoured a great portion of the humungous Kopps custard sundae of the month that I picked up earlier that day as my Valentine's gift to Brian. I am so thoughtful and romantic, don't you think?

Thanks Brian for an awesome Valentines Day. Lets do it again next year.

P.S this was intended to be a baby free post. Some how she managed to get mentioned in it a gazillion times. Kids!!
